The US Mint released a new commemorative coin series in 2010. These ATB quarters (America the Beautiful quarters) have different National Parks or Memorials on the reverse, typical for each State.

In 2016, the US Mint produced six coin types in three mints:
- Philadelphia – 1,191,630,000 quarters and 403,400 Bullion quarters
- San Francisco – 5,146,840 uncirculated quarters, 3,492,979 clad proofs, and 2,576,160 silver proofs
- Denver – 1,173,400,000 quarters

Quarters minted in San Francisco come with prices that depend on composition and preservation levels. For instance, the 2016 S clad DCAM quarter proofs are typically worth $1 to $20, while you should set aside $4 to $22 for silver coins.
2016 Shawnee quarter Value
Justin Kunz and Jim Licaretz designed the coin with depicted National Forest Shawnee in Illinois. The composition includes a red-tailed hawk flying above Camel Rock.

The US Mint produced 309,713,826 Shawnee quarters in 2016. You can recognize five coin types minted in three mints. Those in Philadelphia and Denver came with the highest mintage of regular coins. The mint in San Francisco produced a modest number of proofs (clad and silver) and 1,066,440 uncirculated pieces.
2016 Cumberland Gap quarter Value
Designers Barbara Fox and Joseph Menna made a coin with National Historical Park Cumberland Gap in Kentucky featuring a frontiersman. The reverse also includes inscriptions DOORWAY TO THE WEST on his left side.

The Harpers Ferry quarters had the highest mintage in 2016, with over 850 million pieces intended for circulation. As always, the mint in San Francisco produced only proofs in three varieties.

2016 Fort Moultrie quarter Value
The coin representing South Carolina depicts the Fort Sumter National Monument. Designers Richard Scott and Joseph Menna showed William Jasper on the reverse. This sergeant returned the regimental Moultrie flag to the ramparts despite constant British ship attacks.

Like other modern coins, ATB quarters rarely come with errors. The US Mint gives its best to make perfect coinage, while collectors passionately seek those with various imperfections.

Shawnee quarter
You can find these quarters with Die Chips visible on the camel-shaped rock and red-tailed hawk. Your best option to get one in the mint state is to look among pieces in an original wrapped roll.
Another popular error in the set is Die Break on the red-tailed hawk between its wing and tail. A piece in the uncirculated condition is worth about $1 to $5.
Cumberland quarter
Collectors have found some coins from the Philadelphia mint with a Doubled Die error. A doubling reminding an extra fringe on the frontiersman’s coat is effortlessly visible to the naked eye. You can find these pieces on eBay for $2 to $3, but there is a high probability for their value to increase over time.
Theodore Roosevelt quarter
For now, the Theodore Roosevelt quarter is the only one in the set that came without known errors.

History of the 2016 America the Beautiful Quarters
The US Mint started with America the Beautiful Quarters Program, which included 56 coins minted from 2010 to 2021. It featured five quarters per year, and each coin type depicted one of the national sites characteristic for each State.

The quarters were released based on when each location became a National Site. Both the Philadelphia and Denver mints produced coins from regular strikes, but the first one also struck a certain amount of pure silver bullion quarters.
